06:40 pm - The 2009 LeBrane Christmas Tour!
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program...

The Christmas Day tour was successful and fun!

After opening our gifts (which I will tell you about in a second), we ventured out to my grandma's house for celebrating.  Also, after that, we stopped by my aunt's house and had food there as well.  It was cool seeing everyone and stuff.  Christmas is always fun!

Now, for the gifts:

I got my mom a Baby Phat goddess Perfume Set and Some Isotoner Slippers.  I bought dad a Cubic Zirc ring.  Rose got dad a Stetson set and got my mom a Cubic Zirc Jewelery set.  Rose's mom also made them and my grandma knitted scarves.  Good times!

For my set of gifts, I got a pair of pants and a shirt, my mom gave me her laptop (YES!), another pair of white boots (too much is never really enough when it comes to my world), and the Weird Al Video Collection on DVD (something I have wanted in many different incarnations over the last 16 years).  So yea...I was pretty jazzed about all that.   And it doesn't end.  A few family members gave me some cash and also some AXE Body sets.

When I get home, Christmas part II starts, in which me and Rose will give our gifts and whatnot.  I shall update with that when that time comes.

I hope everyone has been having a great holiday.

Remember the reason for the season

Eat that food

Get that Itis

Pass out

You earned it.

Even if you didn't...

JUST DO IT!

06:08 pm
We now break away breifly from the Christmas Update to bring you this moment of significant meaningfullness....

As I was sitting at my aunt's house, reading "Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs" while the older adults line danced to music, I was in a reflective point.  My homie Josh wasn't there to celebrate the holidays with me and although I was having the time of my life, I was also a bit on the bored side.

Earlier in the day, I decided to text basically everyone in my phone and tell them all Merry Christmas.  No mass text, all of them hand done.  It's the least I could do.  So I did it, and despite thumb cramps, it was a slightly rewarding experience.

After doing this, I was receiving tons of replies to my send-outs, which led me to check my phone.  I even sent one to my girlfriend, who I had talked to earlier.  At some point at this party, I decided to check my phone for messages, since my ringer was off (I NEVER turn it on).  When I retrieved the phone from my pocket, I was shocked to find one of Rose's long hairs.  Now, if you have a significant other with long hair, this is probably pretty common.  But since she wasn't in town, the pants and everything I was wearing was brand new, it was a bit odd.

Struck by this, I happily texted her about this interesting discovery.  She merely replied with this:

"Well that's good, so you won't ever forget you got something good at home!"

I smiled.

01:25 am - Blinkers, Zingers, and the Art of Prank: A Christmas Story
MERRY CHRISTMAS PEOPLES!!!

Today (or Christmas Eve, rather) was a good day!

We had our annual Christmas party, and it was fun.  Most of the fam was in attendance, and I did my usual bit, I came, I saw, I disappeared back into the abyss known as my room.  I waited for my friends to come over, which would, in turn, switch the party into a comedic folly.   AND FOLLY IT WAS!!!  Sorta...lol

In all actuality, it was just great seeing all of my peeps.  Jay, Cal, Windell, Hill, Kobe, Lame, Rory, and Ronald were all in the place to be and see, yo!  The only two bummers of it all were these things: Kobe's grandfather passed away tonight (say a prayer for him and the family) and my best friend/bro/cousin Josh couldn't make it.  To some extent, I think the guys believe that he's coming down...but I don't think he is going to be able to.  Sad, but we shall fix that, somehow.

I don't know what it is about home, and the holidays, but my appetite is NON EXISTANT, as usual.  For the last two days, I haven't eaten much.  On the day I came down here, I had a Two Cheesburger meal at McDonald's and that was about it.  I tried to eat dinner (chicken tenders and fries, one of my faves) and I couldn't finish it.  I didn't even TOUCH the fries, which if you know me, is FUCKING THE OUTER LIMITS for me.  And for Christmas Eve, a half of a honey bun and a Kit Kat.  And at the party, in which there was a King's Feast ready for the taking, I had some beer and a Sierra Mist.  Wait...I'm wrong.  The Sierra Mist in question was the leftovers of the Sierra Mist I mentioned in the previous post.  Shit...

But I kinda dig it.  Makes me feel like I am not so huge.  Although I am...and people noticed.  Well, they noticed I got bigger.  But fuck it, I'm pretty cute...

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better grasp on the food thing.  I don't wanna make my mom worry or anything.  She gave me a weird look when I wasn't eating and stuff.  So, yea...Christmas Day...food...sorta...maybe....

Well, that's all I have for now.  I am sure that I will be back to inform you of more Christmas Madcap Fun!

PEACE, MY PEOPLES!

12:22 am - The Weather Outside is Weather...
Party people in the place to be!!

Whats goings on with youse?!?!  It's the holidays, mofo's.  Get happy!

I am back in Baton Rouge...

I see faces and traces of home....BACK IN B.R.  CITY!!!!
(Ok, so it was supposed to be "Back in NYC" by Genesis, but hey...ya know?)

I have been in town for about a day now and stuff.  Mind cleared, hair relaxed, beard gone.  Good times for Chris!

Rose, my woman/girl/pimpfriend, was going to come but things didn't work out months ago on the work vacaiton scheduling front.  But hopefully she will get to come on down next year.  My fam was asking abot her hardcore, so we will have to make that ish happen.  Whoa...I just said ish...

Tonight is the annual LeBrane Christmas Eve getogether, so I am a little jazzed for that.  Family and my crew (WEARD!) will be in the house.  Unfortunately, my best bud/cousin Josh can't make it down from Shreveport for the holidays.  Bummer, but I know me and him shall reconnect.  And it will be grand!

I am just chillin solo in my parents guest room, do-ragged up, listening to some GirlBros Radio (Herbie Hancock is funkin out right now), sipping on a Sierra Mist.  Ahhhh!  The Solitudinous Life.  I hope I totally made that up....

The party officially starts at 6 (or when the first relative makes it through the door).  I will probablhy shower up, do a quick facial re-gromming and thhen get ready to shmooze old skool style with my family (which usually revolves around me saying hello, kisses and hugs, awkward statement and then retreat to the safety of my area of the house).  It's what I do...and did....will do.....for years and years to come!  lol

Anyways,  I am sure I will post and inform you of what gifts and things I received...and then after that, once the holiday is offically over (which for me, won't be until about Tuesday or so) I will then inform you of what I go others (so they won't find out before their time!)

Aiight, LJ

Stay informative, stay creative (TM), and also,  stay secretly perverted and dirty (we all love it, whether we admit it or not!)

05:15 pm - The Shocking Scene of Three Machines: A Short Story By Chris LeBrane

The crowd waits in anticipation...

All of their faces; men, women, and children alike, are all in a state of perpetual shock. they all gaze at the scene with an unexpected mix of fear, anger, and under-carriage excitement. It would be safe to note that if this hazard were being performed in a private controlled area, none of this would seem out of place. But since it is 4:15pm on a Thursday afternoon in the heart of downtown, it makes for a scandalous scene.

 The catalyst goes into motion...

A whimper...

A sigh...

A  gasp.

The crowd still waits...

A young boy asks his father what is going on...

His father replies "Shut up, son. Dad is REALLY busy right now."

He is doing nothing at all.

The motion gets faster...

The nervous congregation fidgets as the pistons go into overdrive. The body of work (aka "The Machine") has gone from normal tones into an electric red, biologically speaking. the crowd nervously mimic the motions of the catalyst, their bodies and hands swaying back and forth, as if they were in control of the dials.

The noise gets louder...

With each passing second, the pistons send the machines more vibrational business, enthralling the massive throng of lookers-on. The suspense is elongating and terrifying, in that "you love it" sort of razzmatazz. Three patches of crowd mimic the machines noise, while others (some of whom were just shopping at the new-fangled I H8 Trends Department Store) gather in a zombie-like state to witness this odd occurrence.

The motion is now in a state of frenzy.

The machine violently rocks out of control. The people, visibly moved by this, begin to all yell and shout mixtures of encouragement and random 4-letter sounds in the general direction of the action. Women shake uncontrollably, men pant and perspire. Parents hide their kids faces, in fear of the inevitable traumatization that will rob the kids of their innocence, and rob the parents of their respective bank accounts (Therapy...it works!). As the pistons break on through to the other side...a scream is heard...

EXPLOSION!!!

The over-excited crowd clutch themselves as a clear plasm falls over them from the sky--a result of said explosion. The plasm covers them all, as sounds of joy, anger, and bewilderment takes over the sounds of the mechanical spectacle, which has now become nothing more than purely silent.

As the last drop falls into the Latte of a soccer-mom, the crowd snaps out of its droning trance. And without a sound, the crowd disbands, their faces filled with a hybrid of happiness and disgust.

And as the last footsteps from the area in question, the three machines (two men, one woman) apply their clothing once more, and disappear into the uncommon mid-afternoon city mist.

12:37 pm - Stuffs and Thangs: 2009 Style!
So today is Friday. Someone should buy me fries.

I'm at work, just working. Somehow, some way, I have managed to get my entire workload done before 12 PM. Sweet! Gives me more time to listen to LuxuriaRadio and do more Chris-stuff, which is the ultimate goal, right?

Last weekend, my band Waking Dreamer performed at the Haven, which as people might remember, is and will always be home to the Aristocracy and a hundred other bands as well. The show went badassiddly (I made a new word! buy me fries) and the people gave us a big enthusiastic experience! I love the stage. Nothing quite like it.

In addition to that, I have also been making some music for my own use. It's going slow, but that's kinda how I want it to go. Kind of like a Crock-Pot-cooking-all-day sort of affair rather than a Chaffing-dish-ready-in-45-minutes sort of deal. Or oven to micro...or something...

(For more information regarding Chafing Dishes and Crock-Pots, see the movie Hot Shots! )

Like I stated before, I am listening to Luxuria Radio. On this site, Prince and the Revolution alums Wendy and Lisa have a radio show, Girlbros Radio. And I gotta say, it's pretty kick! They play a damn good selection of tunes, ranging from funk and soul, to alt rock and in between. I love them, and I love their show!

Speaking of radio, the show that I host (along with my girlfriend Rose and our friend Jeff) is doing good...well as good as it can be for 3 in the morning. It's a fun gig, and it's all for the love, since we don't get paid. But yes, that is going great as well...

My friend and video genius, Jordan Krumbine, asked me to make some more backgorund music for his youtube vids. I happily accepted, as I have always wanted to do that kind of stuff, scoring movies and TV shows and whatnot.

Here are some of his vids that has a bit of my music in it, since some of you I believe have never really heard what it is I do:

This vid is from his series of vids called "The Apocablog". The set of videos is about people blogging about the end of the world. I did all the background scoring music.

This is another one of his series, entitled "Sexkittens". I did the background music for this as well.

I also did a bit of acting in two vids of his. If he still lived in Orlando (we used to work together), I would probably be in more. But I did a little bit of it though:

In this other Krumbine series, "Krumbine's Brain", I play myself...just watch! It's awesome!

This is part two of my appearance on ""Krumbine's Brain". It is actually part 3 of this episode, but I only showed the ones that I was in. Also, I did not do the music for this particular series.

So, if you get a chance, check out www.youtube.com/user/krumbine and watch more of his films! I helped with a lot of the tunes and his style and vision is amazing!

I shall now take my leave of you for now. I will return with more goodies and more tellings of the goings-ons of my life.

I will leave you with one more special youtube clip. This is a clip of my band The Aristocracy performing at the Haven in the summer of 2008. It was filmed for a as-yet-released-maybe-it-will-not-be DVD. This was one of two shows that was recorded. The second film was decided to be used, but not before this one made it to the Youtube ranks as a teaser of sorts. So enjoy!

09:37 am - Knock, Knock, Ahem!

Allow me to re-introduce myself, my name is CHRIS!

I'm back.  And to answer Lynardsky's question:  The rest of the story is right HERE, asshole!

Lord have mercy, it's been so long, I have literally no idea where to start.  I guess, the beginning is a good place,eh?

After the girlfriend acquirement (Spring-Summer 2008), and then based upon that, her acquiring me a DX-7 (Winter 2008), things have been going pretty cool.
  • We got an apartment together.  THose that know me persoanlly already know this, so this isn't for you guy, now is it?  LOL
  • Me and Rose, including my family and people from my old church (as well as some family friends) went on a Cruise to Key West and the Bahamas.  Great trip!  The last day the ride was rough.  Got very very sick.  Other than that, awesome times!
  • I, myself, bought a Clavia Nord Lead synthesizer, my first major instrument buy, ever.  Still trying to figure it all out.
  • Through good friends, I am now the owner of a reel-to-reel tape machine and a shit ton of old school records!
  • I began making more music on Reason and other things.  Sounds great, can't wait for you to hear it.
  • My friend Jordan Krumbine, an internet filmmaker, has included some of my musical scoring as well as me in a few ot his vids.  Awesomesauce!
  • In the summer of 2009, the Aristocracy played its last show to date at Holly and Dolly's in Casselberry, FL.  Not saying that this is it, but this has been it so far.  Chase had to move back to VA based on financial reasons.  So, on that regard, it's been a bit slow for The A.  But not to fear.   I know this ain't the end.  Why?  Because I said so!
  • Through jamming and hanging, I became involved with another band, Waking Dreamer.  At one point, we were doing shows along with The Aristocracy, a double shot of your humble narrator.  But yea, it's a 4 piece indie rock/funk/synth sort of deal with two keyboardists (me and my friend Josh.  I also play bass and sing, and he plays guitar and sing.  Double shifting it!), another guitarist (his brother, Aaron) and on drums, my homeboy Omar!  We are a pretty good band, I must say!
  • In concert, me and Rose have seen P-Funk, Flight of the Conchords, KISS and a few others!  I also gt to see NIN and Janes Addiction with Pete.  All in all, great shows!
So I guess, when you sandwich all that stuff together, it looks like a pretty busy year, which I can deal with.

What has been up with all of you guys?  I wanna know!  The good the bad, the ugly, the pretty, the clean, the nasty...EVERYTHING!

More to come!  SHO!!!!!

10:40 pm - Been a Long Time...
Yes, I can admit, it's been a hell of a long time since I have been here.

I believe the last time I was here, I talked about my girlfriend buying me a DX-7. Well, a shit ton has happened since then, and I promise to give the run down (if anyone still cares!). But I shall do it anyhow. It's a part of Christory, and I should document it.

More to come.

Keep it greasy.

04:44 pm - Leaders and Followers
Although things are pretty good...I'd be lying if I said that things were great.

I am just getting to a point where I want a little recognition.  A little credit.  One place I seem to get none of this is at my job.

A place where the well endowed get the upper crust before all of the deserving.  A place in which the majority of the staff seems to be brain dead.  A place in which they love fixing things that aren't broken.

They do this all the time.

It's like a weird sort of prison.  It's like, the doors are open, free to walk out on this prison at anytime, yet, no one would consider it a smart move.  IS anything I am saying making sense?

I have no say.  In the things I do, I have to play the bored housewife:  grit and take it like a bitch.

Now I just sound whiny.  Fuck it.  I'm a beaten man.

"My life is not about what I want" --Chris Rock "I Think I Love My Wife"

I never thought I would say that before children and the real life downers.

Rules, rules, and fucking rules.  Everyone has them, and everyone, like the assholes they are (you included), seems to inflict these rules upon anyone.  When do I get to make some fucking rules?  When do I get a chance to shine?  Never!  BUT NEVER!!

In life, someone is always going to have something to say...and something they want you to follow.

When my ship comes in, I just hope I don't end up like them: power hungry and vindictive in my leading.

I know you guys are tired of me talking.  So I'm shutting the fuck up now.
